If the author has published his/her article in a non-open access journal originally then embargo period is the time period the authors have to wait before their paper gets an open access, free of charge.

Set Publishers have an embargo period of one year for all its journals. It is a means through which we deliver value to our subscribing customers before making the articles freely available.

After the embargo period’s expiration, the articles are easily accessible to the public, media, & scientists etc. without any subscription fee and the authors can even share them on their personal or institutional websites.
